Culture, community and celebration combined at the second annual Pakistani Night Fundraiser Gala on Sept. 5, 2026, which raised $55,000 to support the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.

“This event celebrates the richness of Pakistani heritage while raising vital funds in support of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. Together, we created an evening that inspired connection, generosity and lasting impact for patients and families across our province,” said Dr. Muhammad Aslam, chair and founder of the Pakistani Community Association of Saskatchewan (PCAS), the organization hosting the annual gala.

Held at Hotel Saskatchewan, the event featured music, performances and cuisine that showcased Saskatchewan’s Pakistani community. More than 260 guests attended. “This gala is about more than fundraising—it’s a reflection of our commitment to giving back to the province we call home,” Dr. Aslam said.

Funds raised at the previous year’s Pakistani Night were used to replace the patient waiting room furniture at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina, creating a more welcoming and comfortable area for patients and family members going for appointments and treatment.

“We are deeply grateful for this growing partnership with the Pakistani Community Association of Saskatchewan and for a community that is choosing to make a difference for Saskatchewan patients and families. Together, we are changing what’s possible for cancer patients in Saskatchewan,” said Nora Yeates, CEO of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
